The Chicago Cubs looked like one of the elite teams in the National League and a serious World Series contender for much of the 2025 season, but ultimately fell short of a title push in their first trip to the playoffs since 2020.
Second-year outfielder Jackson Chourio left the game in the top of the eighth inning with right hamstring tightness, via the Brewers’ social media. The 21-year-old was having a historic game, as he became the first MLB player to ever notch three hits in the first two innings of a postseason contest, via MLB Network’s Sarah Langs.
The baseball industry certainly isn’t designed to be fair. In the end, though, the Cubs probably got what they deserved.
