NEW YORK -- — Danny Jansen hit a two-run homer to cap Tampa Bay's six-run sixth inning and the Rays came back to beat the Mets 7-5 on Friday night and snap New York's six-game winning streak.

The biggest talking point, however, is the battle on the mound as Rays starter Drew Rasmussen ... sport after the underlying statistics and the analysis surrounding it grabbed his attention.

Tampa Bay’s 17-6 record since May 20 is the best in baseball, and the Rays showed a lot of the reasons why Saturday.

Shane Baz combined with three relievers on a five-hitter, and the Tampa Bay Rays beat New York 9-0 to complete the first three-game series sweep of the Mets this season.

“The ball slipped out like a wet bar of soap,” play-by-play man Andy Freed said on the Rays’ TV broadcast, which was a great description and made sense since the game had started after a 51-minute rain delay and the ball could have been a little wet.
