South Carolina basketball’s search for its first SEC win continues, as Lamont Paris’ team fell to Vanderbilt 66-63 on the road on Wednesday. An and-one putback by Vanderbilt’s Devin McGlockton with less than a second left won the game after the Commodores went nearly five minutes without a field goal.

Leading 63-61, Vanderbilt guard AJ Hoggard lost control of the ball in the lane and grabbed the ankle of South Carolina forward Collin Murray-Boyles with 41.1 seconds left. After a review, the officials called a Flagrant 1 foul. Murray-Boyles made the two free throws to tie it at 63-all and South Carolina got the ball back.

Devin McGlockton was in perfect position to clinch Vanderbilt basketball's desperately needed win against South Carolina.

Vanderbilt (14-3, 2-2 conference) came into Wednesday's matchup against South Carolina (10-7, 0-4) with it virtually being a must win since the Commodores have a gauntlet beginning with their next contest that features three games in a row against top 10 teams.
