Firefighters are battling a new brush fire that erupted along the 405 Freeway in Seal Beach, as they also race to contain the Hughes Fire near Castaic Lake.

A brush fire burning north of Los Angeles on Wednesday has prompted evacuation orders on Wednesday. The Hughes Fire started at Lake Hughes Road near the Castaic Reservoir, the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station said on X.
