A cursory Google search tells me that a "great toe" is just another name for a big toe. That makes sense, and it's what I thought initially anyway. I didn't actually believe that Garland was superhuman and had different anatomy than everyone else ever to walk this floating rock in space. That would be silly and rooted in absolutely zero logic.

Cleveland Cavaliers star Darius Garland underwent surgery to repair a great toe injury and will miss 4-5 months as he recovers from the procedure, the team announced. The expectation is that Garland will make a full recovery and return to basketball activities by the start of training camp.
