The first hurricane of 2025 in the Atlantic continued to track north of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands on Sunday morning, hitting those islands with heavy rain and gusty winds. Erin is expected to move away from the islands later today and begin to curve more to the north.

Erin is the fifth named storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season and the first hurricane, as well as the first major hurricane. The NHC has warned that the system, a Category 4 hurricane at the time of writing,

Life-threatening waves and rip currents are expected along the East Coast this week, with Hatteras Island in the Outer Banks under an evacuation order.
