President Trump’s removal of Billy Long as head of the IRS after only two months on the job has cast an uncomfortable spotlight on the agency, which already churned through six different leaders this year.

President Donald Trump is ousting Billy Long from his role as commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service just two months after he was confirmed to the position, three sources familiar told CNN.

It was not immediately clear why Long was dismissed. His quick exit makes him the shortest-tenured IRS commissioner confirmed by the Senate since 1862.
