The Seattle Mariners have acquired lefty-batting first baseman Josh Naylor from the Diamondbacks. Arizona gets left-hander Brandyn Garcia and right-hander Ashton Izzi back in the deal. The Diamondbacks announced the trade on Thursday evening.

In a wide-open American League, the Mariners will have as good a chance as anyone to make a deep postseason run, and Naylor could be a big part of that. He’s played in three postseasons and is known for hitting clutch home runs.
