On Saturday at 5:50 a.m. the National Weather Service reported an air quality alert in effect until Sunday at 6 a.m. The alert is for Leavenworth, Wyandotte, Johnson, Platte, Clay and Jackson counties.

Smoke from Canadian wildfires remains over the state through Saturday and possibly into Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
