In a few days, all of us will witness a new chapter in the NFL and the streaming giant’s sports-media ambitions when Netflix streams the Kansas City Chiefs-Pittsburgh Steelers game at 1 p.m. ET, followed by the Baltimore Ravens-Houston Texans game at 4:30 p.m. ET.

Netflix is planning to provide plenty of gifts for viewers of its two Christmas Day games, including Mariah Carey kicking it all off with a taped performance of "All I Want for Christmas is You.” Yet,

Netflix will stream two NFL games on Christmas Day, a huge test of its live-event chops, using the most popular programming source on television. It should be huge.

Mariah Carey will once again prove she is the Queen of Christmas by opening Netflix's NFL Christmas Gameday on Dec. 25.

Netflix has its work cut out for itself ahead of Christmas Day. The streaming giant did not have much success broadcasting the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight back in November. Millions of Netflix customers complained about issues with the platform throughout the fight.
