South Korea’s anti-corruption agency says impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol has been detained hours after the hundreds of the agency’s investigators and police officers arrived at his presidential compound to apprehend him.

Hundreds of law enforcement officials in South Korea have entered the residential compound of impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol in Seoul.

Yoon, the country’s first sitting president to be apprehended, now faces the prospect of a lengthy prison term over potential rebellion charges.
