Two officers with the Garland Police Department have been put on paid administrative leave following a shooting Sunday morning, police said.
Garland PD said at about 1:45 a.m., near the intersection of Broadway Boulevard and Colonel Drive, officers were involved in a shooting with a suspect. However, the suspect was not injured and was transported to a medical facility for a mental health evaluation, officials said.
A suspect was arrested Friday in a shooting that left one person dead and another injured at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and prompted a shelter-in-place order, officials said.
