TORONTO (AP) — A 30-year-old man was shot dead by police outside Toronto’s Pearson Airport on Thursday morning, officials said, in what was described as an isolated incident with no further threat to public safety.

The police said that the man had displayed a firearm. The shooting caused a partial shutdown of Canada’s busiest airport.

Authorities said the police officers involved were unharmed, and that there was no further threat to public safety.
