Mosquitoes collected in Framingham have tested positive for West Nile virus, and officials said Thursday that the city has been elevated to moderate risk of virus transmission.

BRISTOL, R.I. (WPRI) — A mosquito sample collected in Bristol on July 28 has tested positive for West Nile virus. The sample was collected by the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management and tested by the state’s health department.

The New Mexico Department of Health has confirmed a West Nile virus infection in a Valencia County resident, who was hospitalized and has been discharged.
