The Masked Booby is the largest species of booby with a wingspan of up to 5.5 feet. This adult Masked Booby (23-6969) was reported from Hollywood Beach after citizens noticed the bird in the same spot for a full day. The bird was thin and weak, with an older healed injury to the right foot. After 1 week of supportive care, this Masked booby is doing well and eating on their own. It won’t be long before this patient is ready to transition to an outdoor habitat. Enjoy this video from feeding time!
