The scalene muscles are three paired muscles that form the lateral compartment of the neck. As you can see in the video, when contracting on both sides, the scalene muscles allow neck flexion. When these muscles contract only on one side, they provide lateral flexion of the neck to the ipsilateral (same) side. Additionally, the scalene muscles are known as the accessory inspiration muscles, and they elevate the first and second ribs. | Bradley Blair Osteopath

Releasing the scapular angle and scalenes relieves tension in the upper neck, improves cervical mobility, and reduces nerve compression. When these muscles are tight, they promote neck pain and pain radiating to the shoulders and head. #junedfams #fbviralreels #fbviral #pilates #yoga #stretching #wellness #contracture #contractures #muscletension #ChronicPain | Mohd Juned
