Freezing temperatures overnight in the Berkshires have necessitated we put New Haven 2058 to bed for the winter. Unlike automobiles, most locomotives do not have antifreeze in their cooling system, only water, making them susceptible to freeze damage if not running. The locomotive was started, allowed to idle for a few hours, then drained. Looking forward to 2026 when 2058 can stretch its legs once again… | Berkshire Scenic Railway Museum
