Earth Day, 2025 We lost Richie twelve years ago today. Filmmaker Steve Rash has kindly shared with us this rare glimpse of the tail end of the 1970 Atlanta Pop Festival. Though the event was scheduled for July 3rd - 5th, it ran long and Richie didn't actually take the stage until daybreak on July 6th. The condition of the concert site speaks to that, as do the sun-baked faces of a crowd who'd weathered days of afternoon temperatures over 100 degrees. - Festival life before the luxury of glamping
