Wangechi Mutu is a Kenyan artist and sculptor based in Brooklyn, New York. She has made a name for herself in the North American and European art markets. Her art is part of the Afrofuturist movement. Mutu has exhibited her work all over the world, notably in the United States (San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Whitney Museum of American Art, Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago), in Europe (Tate Modern in London, Museum Kunstpalast, Düsseldorf, Centre Pompidou, Paris), in Asia (Gwangju Biennale
