Put beans in an airtight bottle or container (cut the vanilla beans in half to fit if needed). Add vodka to and be sure the liquid covers the pods. Store in a cool dark space. Give the bottle a shake every other day for the next year or at minimum of 3 months. The longer you wait the stronger the extract will taste. Vanilla extract will last several year
