A healthy dad fox at the den 2 days ago & @then a fox with mange yesterday. Mange is caused by a mite that burrows under the foxes skin. When the foxes’ immune system is weakened by eating rodents that have been poisoned with rodenticides, it can’t fight the mite infection and will die of starvation or hypothermia. Foxes with manure are treatable, so please contact a wildlife rescue and don’t use rodenticides. They also poison hawks, eagles, owls, bobcats, fishers & coyotes. 🦊 #wildlife #nature
